Ah Huang (played by Wang Yihsing) and Sunny (played by Liu Weng) are like-minded good friends. Sunny was originally a photographer, and Ah Huang was a writer. Due to social changes, both found themselves struggling in life and, suddenly in their middle age, recalled dreams long forgotten after years of societal hardships. Sunny aspires to be a director, while Ah Huang dreams of becoming a screenwriter. The two painstakingly prepared an extraordinary script, aiming to film the first ghost movie in Asia using the currently popular VR technology. Unfortunately, after meeting one producer or financier after another, they found little interest in their movie outline. The two faced numerous setbacks, except for one fund manager who saw profit potential in VR technology, a concept that began to germinate and gradually take shape in their minds. As their dreams veered off course and life pressured them, Sunny's uncle, who suffers from mental illness, becomes obsessed with the delusion of his wife's spirit returning and goes mad at exactly 8:01 PM every night, reenacting the tragic scene of his wife's argument that led to her suicide. The two had a stroke of genius and believed that developing a VR app for exorcising ghosts could be promising. They began to use the VR app to swindle and exploit others, inadvertently helping many resolve their emotional predicaments...
