This film is adapted from Naoki Prize-winning author Hiroshi Ogihara's popular series "Universal Advertising Company," specifically "Hanazakura Street." It is a newly upgraded television drama version following the great success of the 2016 SP "The Good-for-Nothing Father Becomes a Hero," with the creative team remaining unchanged. The screenwriter is still Yoshikazu Okada, known for the morning drama "Chirori," and the lead actor continues to be Kazuki Sawamura. This marks Sawamura's first time leading a Tokyo TV drama, solidifying his position as a main star among Tokyo's five major broadcasters. The story follows advertising elite Toshiharu Sugiyama (Kazuki Sawamura), who once worked at a large advertising company and was highly regarded. Just when life was going smoothly for him, he decides to leave the company to become independent. After failing and going through many experiences, he finds refuge in the small and struggling "Universal Advertising Company" located in a quiet port town. Although he has never voiced it, he deeply loves the advertising industry. Inside the company, there is manager Erika Inokuma (Nana Katase), who is beautiful but cold and unfriendly, appearing fearsome and unpopular with men, yet she flawlessly completes her work. However, her clothing costs far more than her salary, leading to rumors that she runs a side business. Rokuro Murazaki (Jun Kaname) is a designer who is a genius at talking behind others' backs, yet his actual skills do not match his eloquence. He is jealous of Sugiyama, a top advertising professional, and often clashes with him. He lives in a camper trailer, appearing to lead a leisurely single life but actually feels lonely. Kenichiro Ishii (Yuuji Miyake) is the company president who met Sugiyama in a bar and took him in. Although he loves advertising, he lacks the instinct and talent for it, so he eagerly anticipates Sugiyama's performance. He has a formidable wife and daughter, which is why he prefers staying at the company rather than being at home. The shopping street features a coffee shop called "Je Reviens," run by the enthusiastic waitress Sakura Fujisawa (Eimi Waku), who, despite her motivation, finds her shop empty as business dwindles. As the shopping street becomes increasingly desolate, the single Sakura feels hopeless about the future, always thinking she must resolve the situation. Her father, Hiroshi Fujisawa (DENDEN), dislikes being busy and finds even a few customers troublesome. Though their coffee is of high quality, it's expensive, and he has a peculiar dislike for advertising companies. In the quiet shopping street of the port town, can Sugiyama's appearance revive the floundering Universal Advertising Company and the town itself? To restore bonds and smiles among the street's residents, Sugiyama will strive alongside his colleagues!
