This series is adapted from the ABC News/ABC Radio podcast of the same name, telling the story of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos, focusing on their rise and fall. Amanda Seyfried plays Elizabeth Holmes, who was once described as "the next Steve Jobs" for proposing a groundbreaking technology that could conduct tests with just a small amount of blood, gaining investments from several celebrities. However, in reality, both she and the company lacked the solid capabilities to achieve this, leading Elizabeth to continuously falsify results, culminating in the release of a blood-testing device that couldn't provide accurate data; ultimately, after everything was exposed, Elizabeth is now facing criminal charges and, if found guilty, could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Naveen Andrews plays Sunny Balwani, Elizabeth Holmes' business partner and secret boyfriend, witnessing the rise and fall of Theranos. In the book "Bad Blood," Balwani is cited as one of the reasons for creating a culture of fear within the company.
