FOX has announced a direct order for the series "Our Kind Of People," created by Karin Gist and Lee Daniels. This series is inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham's book "Our Kind of People: Inside America’s Black Upper Class," which tells the story of a wealthy Black family that has been established for over 50 years in the Oak Bluffs community on Martha's Vineyard. The main character, a single mother named Angela Vaughn, creates a hair product for Black women in an effort to restore her family's reputation. However, this also uncovers secrets about her mother, shaking the small community.
