During the Eastern Zhou period, there were a hundred years of warfare, annexation, and ebb and flow of power. By the mid-Warring States period, the seven states vied for supremacy. The state of Qin, which faced near annihilation, rapidly rose under the reforms of Shang Yang, becoming a formidable force in the northwest plains. Pressured by conservative forces, the young King Huiwen of Qin, Ying Si (played by Fu Dalong), was forced to execute Shang Yang, yet he also adopted a passive approach to restrain the conservatives. With ambitious strategies, King Huiwen of Qin navigated the perilous international stage while eliminating domestic opposition led by Gan Long, paving the way for his dominance. To curb the advancement of the powerful neighbors, the weakened King Huai of Wei (played by Li Liqun) appointed Su Qin, promoting the Six Nations' alliance theory to isolate Qin. As Qin continuously expanded its territory, it also employed Zhang Yi (played by Yu En-Tai) to propose countermeasures of alliance with the states. Heroes and scholars emerged one after another, leading Warring States history into its most tumultuous era…This film is adapted from the second part of Sun Haohui's historical novel of the same name.
