45-year-old Kamon Mitsuki (played by Yuki Amami) works at a library. She has long flowing hair, is beautiful yet reserved, and well-read, making her the "ideal woman" in the eyes of many men. However, Mitsuki seems disdainful of such evaluations; she maintains a kind and perfect smile in her daily life while harboring a sharp tongue that judges the various injustices and oddities around her. Always single, she has no interest in romance and believes that the best life is one accompanied by books. One day, she unexpectedly reunites with her college lover, Haruki Yamamura (played by Kazuki Sawamura). Haruki had disappeared without a word back then, causing Mitsuki great emotional pain. Now, she learns that Haruki actually prefers men. Currently serving as a temporary principal at a kindergarten, Haruki reveals that his mother (played by Junko Fuji) is near death and asks Mitsuki to enter a fake marriage with him to comfort her. Mitsuki naturally refuses such an unreasonable request, but a series of unexpected events force them together...
