This drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by墨宝非宝. It tells the story of investment director Gui Xiao reuniting with bomb disposal police officer Lu Yancheng ten years later, as the two rekindle their love and find their path back to loyalty and faith. Gui Xiao (played by Tan Songyun) and Lu Yancheng (played by Jing Boran) are each other's first loves. After graduating from university, Lu Yancheng went far away to become a special police officer, while Gui Xiao's family faced turmoil, leading to the end of their relationship. Ten years later, they reunite and realize they can no longer suppress their feelings for each other, drawing closer once more. However, news of Lu Yancheng's arranged marriage by his parents leaves Gui Xiao distressed. Lu Yancheng decisively makes a choice, and Gui Xiao understands that he has only ever had her in his heart. They reconnect and register their marriage. After marriage, Lu Yancheng is injured and falls into a coma during a mission. Pregnant Gui Xiao rushes to his side, and in the border city that Lu Yancheng has protected for ten years, she gives birth to their daughter.
