This series tells the story of the brave battles fought by the Iron-Blooded Vanguard of the East China Field Army during the Liberation War, under the leadership of Captain Feng Liangshan, as they delve into enemy territory and courageously confront adversaries. The series is divided into four units. "Gunfire Before Dawn" recounts how the Vanguard infiltrates the enemy’s General Headquarters to uncover the truth behind the Kuomintang’s “Nanke Operation,” overcoming numerous challenges to ultimately thwart the enemy's scheme to destroy the provincial capital before their retreat; "Under the Sun's Shadow" tells of our important intelligence officer, Yan Jinming, who unfortunately falls into enemy hands. The Vanguard pursues the military agent who has taken our hostage and succeeds in exposing a mole and recovering valuable intelligence; "Confrontation in the Tiger's Den" focuses on a reconnaissance map marking a secret arms depot, leading to a complex battle among the Vanguard, remnants of the Kuomintang, and bandits. In the end, they capture both the bandits and the Kuomintang remnants; "The Shadow Behind the Fog" depicts a newly liberated city where the enemy utilizes smuggled drugs as a guise to devise a sinister and meticulous sabotage plan. The Vanguard clears away the confusion to reveal the truth behind many deceptions and ultimately crushes the enemy's conspiracy at the last moment.
