The Wang family has two extraordinary daughters: the elder sister, Lv Ping (played by Qin Lan), is an outstanding ballet dancer, while the younger sister, Zi Ling (played by Zhang Jiani), is an ordinary girl who loves to dream. They simultaneously fall in love with their family friend Chu Lian (played by Bao Jianfeng), but unexpectedly, Chu Lian loves Zi Ling. Their sweet romance is shattered by Lv Ping's car accident, leading Chu Lian to fulfill his responsibility by marrying Lv Ping. Heartbroken, Zi Ling follows the older Fei Yunfan (played by Fang Zhongxin), who is nineteen years her senior, and moves overseas. Fei Yunfan goes to great lengths to help Zi Ling adapt to her new environment and start a new life.
