In the spring of 1935, a group of female soldiers from the Red Army were separated from their main force after crossing the Jialing River and accidentally stumbled into the battlefield in the Yangbatou area. A fierce battle at Yangbatou brought together the female soldiers from the lost Women's Independent Corps' vanguard team and the nurses sent by the main Red Army. To minimize unnecessary casualties, under the orders of Commander Yang from a certain Red Army unit, the vanguard and nurse teams escorted the wounded north to seek out the main Red Army force. From then on, a group of young female soldiers would face perilous environments and cunning enemies, embarking on a heroic and tear-jerking long march! Along the way, the female soldiers burned granaries, blew up munitions, stole radios to kill bandits, crossed snow-capped mountains and marshes, facing wind and rain over 800 miles, engaging in combat with the enemy. Together through hardship and in life and death, they accomplished nearly impossible tasks! There were blood and tearful farewells, as well as deep and lingering love; sometimes fierce enemies, yet also unwavering familial bonds, as each formidable rose blossomed in the artillery fire, yet fell like cherry blossoms in the chaotic winds. As soldiers, they composed a grand and majestic hero's anthem; as female soldiers, they sang a delicate and poignant battlefield love song…
