Under the neon lights of Tokyo shrouded in night, a warm-hearted midnight diner quietly opens in an inconspicuous corner of the city. The charming Kawashima Tamako (played by Saki Takaoka) is disheartened; her supporter passed away recently, leaving her with no inheritance. In her despair, the unremarkable office worker Shokyu (played by Tokio Emoto) enters Tamako's view, and their relationship quickly draws closer. Country girl Kuriyama Michiru (played by Munehiko Tabata) comes to Tokyo alone. When she finds herself at a dead end, she dines and dashes at the diner owned by a boss (played by Kō Saito), later returning to offer her help to repay the debt, thus finding a temporary place to stay. The 3.11 earthquake brings together disaster victim Oishi Kenzo (played by Michitaka Tsutsui) and Tokyo volunteer Sugita Akemi (played by Akiko Kikuchi).
