The story takes place in Beijing in 1928, where young student Fan Jiasu (Hu Bing) accidentally meets the rich young lady He Lina (Yuan Li). Fan Jiasu dislikes the arrogant attitude of He Lina and treats her coldly. However, the army officer Shen Guoying deeply admires He Lina.
