The drama tells the story of the descendants of the first generation of Chinese Communists living in the Ivanovo International Children's Home in the Soviet Union during the 1940s, who learned, fought, and lived during the Great Patriotic War. It is based on a true historical episode derived from the friendly exchanges between the Communist Parties of China and the Soviet Union. The playwright interviewed several veteran comrades who studied at the International Children's Home, including Li Min, the daughter of Comrade Mao Zedong, and Zhu Min, the daughter of Comrade Zhu De. It vividly portrays characters such as the orphans of Chinese Communist martyrs: Chuchu, Luo Xiaoman, and Xie Liaosha. They came to the Soviet Union to study under the care of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in order to ensure the continuity of the Chinese revolutionary cause. After the war broke out, some of them actively participated in the great patriotic war of the Soviet people, while others were imprisoned in German concentration camps but managed to survive with resilience. Their young hearts suffered from the trauma of war, but they also became stronger through the experience of conflict. The drama was filmed on location in Russia, with lively and moving plots that clearly express the shared desire of people around the world for peace and against war, while celebrating the traditional friendship between the Chinese people and the people of the former Soviet Union.
