Young and beautiful actress Cai Meng from the Qinqiang opera troupe is the ideal girlfriend of the Qinqiang director, Li Xiang. The two struggle to raise funds to produce a grand Qinqiang play. Just as Li Xiang decides to propose to his girlfriend, his ex-wife, former troupe actress Han Qing, unexpectedly returns from out of town with a five or six-year-old boy, Da Zhi.
