In the early 1930s, someone visited the Su residence in the suburbs of Shanghai, seeking to purchase the family heirloom—a Song dynasty porcelain pillow. Mr. Su sternly refused and smashed the pillow to show his determination. His daughter, Su Tao, came out to clean up and unexpectedly discovered a delicate bronze mirror among the broken shards. Out of curiosity, she took the mirror back to the attic to play with it, inadvertently triggering a series of bizarre and strange events. For a living, Wu Xin set up a fortune-telling stall every day in front of a casino with Bai Liuli, a spirit. One day, he met Su Tao again. With Wu Xin's help, Su Tao finally contacted her brother. She moved into the narrow alleys of the slums with Wu Xin and Bai Niangzi (the little white snake possessed by Bai Liuli), and for the time being, led a joyful and warm little life, waiting for her brother to return. At this time, the handsome and androgynous young master Ding Cat from the Chamber of Commerce barged into Wu Xin and Su Tao's lives. He was the adopted son of a Shanghai tycoon; after the tycoon fled to Hong Kong, the power in the concessions split into two, with the underworld business handed over to three elders led by Chen Daguan, while the legitimate commerce became Ding Cat's domain. He possessed a shrewdness beyond his years, engaging in open and covert battles with Chen Daguan, manipulating the situation; on the other hand, he showed an unusual interest in Wu Xin and Su Tao. Suddenly, Shirakawa Rin from Japan intervened. In several encounters, Bai Liuli underestimated the enemy and was captured but unexpectedly discovered the secret of the bronze mirror. Faced with Shirakawa Rin's relentless pressure, Wu Xin decided to take the initiative. He leveraged Ding Cat and Gu Ji's gang power to set up a trap, destroying the bronze mirror in Shirakawa Rin's possession. This move could have cost him his life, but unexpectedly, Gu Ji secretly helped him escape, hoping to exchange it for the position of drug dealer. After a period of turbulence, the onmyoji disappeared, Chen Daguan fell, and even Gu Ji left. Life seemed to return to calm, and Wu Xin took Su Tao to rely on each other on an isolated island amidst the war and the rapidly changing political situation, unconsciously deepening Su Tao's feelings for Wu Xin. In this tumultuous era, Su Tao and Wu Xin are just two tiny specks of dust, while the wheels of fate have begun to turn, leading them to an unknown future.
