Georgia and Lin Siyuan return from studying in the U.S. and meet on a cruise ship, where the handsome man and beautiful woman fall in love. Lin Siyuan's father is a famous businessman in Shanghai, but his daughter's romantic relationship attracts the obstruction of bank manager Li Xinzhi and the daughter of his ex-wife, lawyer Xiao Yiran, who disguises herself as a man. Ultimately, this leads to the bank nearing bankruptcy and forces Lin Siyuan to marry Li Xinzhi. After marriage, Lin Siyuan suffers humiliation and torment from the Li family mother and son. Li Xinzhi even fabricates false charges, unjustly imprisoning Georgia. During the period of Shanghai’s occupation, Li Xinzhi betrays his country to survive, intensifying his efforts to seize Lin's family assets while shamelessly pursuing Xiao Yiran. The confession of his father before his death ultimately leads Xiao to forgive him, aiming to rescue her half-sister Lin Siyuan and protect her crush on Georgia. After the victory in the War of Resistance, Li Xinzhi, fearing punishment, kidnaps Xiao Yiran and flees. Lin Siyuan and Georgia rush to rescue them. They finally punish the demon Li Xinzhi, but Xiao Yiran is left in a vegetative state due to the chaos. Lin Siyuan sells the family home, allowing Georgia to accompany Xiao Yiran to the U.S. for treatment, returning to that same dock. Lin Siyuan watches Georgia leave once again, feeling an overwhelming sense of emotion. From then on, they are separated by mountains and seas, longing for each other with no end in sight…
