The series is adapted from Wu Lin's novel "Golden Flower Iron Palm," using the war horse as a point of entry. It tells the story of Zhao Daqi (played by Wu Yue), the young master of the Zhao family horse shop, who, by chance, joins the New Fourth Army during the Anti-Japanese War.
