The historical martial arts drama *Military Power* is adapted from historical facts, depicting major national events and personal romances, with spectacular scenes and intense martial arts. The story tells of Zhao Kuangyin (Liu Jiahui) and his sworn siblings Chai Rong (Hui Tianci), Zheng En, and He Tong (Liang Shuzhen) assisting Guo Wei (Liu Dan) in establishing the Later Zhou. However, they face opposition from Guo Wei's son-in-law Zhang Yongde (Huang Yuncai), who secretly allies with the Khitan's Ye Liu Shifan (Guan Lijie) to kill Guo Wei. In a move to seize the throne, Chai Rong intentionally refrains from offering help, leading to Guo Wei being gravely injured and ultimately dying, passing the throne to Chai Rong. On the other hand, Kuangyin and his friend Qin Ao (Li Ming) both fall in love with Ye Liu Nalan (Shao Meiqi), while Nalan competes with He Tong for Kuangyin's affection. Due to their hostile relationship, Kuangyin and Nalan cannot unite, and Nalan, saddened, returns to the Khitan, while Kuangyin eventually marries He Dan. Chai Kuansong, under the advice from Queen Qi Qi (Wang Qiqin), uses Kuangyin's eventual peace talks with Ye Liu Antu (Guan Haishan) as an opportunity to secretly send troops against the Khitan, which leads to growing mistrust between the two. Later, as Kuangyin earns military merit and becomes well-loved by officials and the populace, Chai Rong fears his potential revolt, devising plans to strip him of his military power, culminating in a direct confrontation between Chai Rong and Kuangyin. In the end, Kuangyin defeats Chai Rong, is crowned by his generals in a yellow robe, and is proclaimed emperor, founding the Song Dynasty, known as Song Taizu.
