Ding Yin (played by Chen Weiting) is a disciple of the Shushan Sect, and he possesses the ancestral treasure, the Crimson Soul Stone, implanted in him by the sect leader Zhuge Yumo. Zhuge Yumo wants to cultivate the exceptionally talented Ding Yin into a martial arts master to defeat his arch-rival, the Green Robed Sovereign (played by Wu Qilong), to rid the martial world of evils and benefit the rivers and lakes. One day, by chance, Ding Yin encounters a woman named Yu Wuxin (played by Zhao Liying), and he is shocked to find that she looks exactly like his deceased wife.
