"The Living Buddha Jikong" is a remake of the classic theme of "Jikong." Chen Haomin plays the most handsome Jikong in history, alongside Yang Xue in a co-starring role. Yang Xue has participated in many Hong Kong TV dramas, so collaborating with Hong Kong actors again naturally feels familiar. In recent years, Yang Xue has been portraying strong and brave female characters in serious-themed dramas, and this time she returns to light comedy television, marking another significant work after "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio." From a fashion icon to a beautiful female soldier to classic comedy, Yang Xue's acting range is expanding. The producer Wang Shiwei introduced that "The Living Buddha Jikong" plans to shoot 120 episodes, starting with Jikong's youth. "He is a worldly Buddha, saving all sentient beings, but he also has his own troubles, such as feeling guilty towards his wife after realizing the way on his wedding night." The first 40 episodes tell eight stories, including "Blood Pearl," "Heart Digging," "Pregnant Man," "Heavenly Thunder Reminder," "Ancient Well Logging," and "Rouge Tears," with broadcasting scheduled for next summer's vacation period in August."
