This film tells a legendary and thrilling story of intertwined grudges and enmities that is popular in the Huajian Mountain region. During the period of our country's first revolutionary war, worker and peasant uprisings surged. The female protagonist, Bai Kunjie, along with her former classmates Zeng Youzhi, Min Jialin, and Yang Liwen, were once close friends. Later, Bai Kunjie, Zeng Youzhi, and Min Jialin left their hometown to pursue education, enrolling in the Whampoa Military Academy together. Bai Kunjie joined the "Women's Brigade" there, mastering both literature and martial arts. After returning to Sichuan, the three parted ways, each embarking on different life paths: Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi embraced Marxism-Leninism and joined the Communist Party, while Min Jialin served in the Nationalist army. Upon returning to Sichuan, Bai Kunjie joined the guerrilla force in Huaying Mountain. Due to her quick wit, ability to fight both day and night, and her versatile combat methods, she became known as the "Double-Gun Old Lady". Enemies trembled at the name and sought to eliminate her. The enemy mobilized troops to encircle Huaying Mountain, severely attacking our guerrilla force. Rumors spread that the "Double-Gun Old Lady" had been killed in battle, leading them to falsely assert that the "banditry" in Huaying had been eradicated. Fueled by their presumed victory, the enemy boasted of their achievements. However, at the very moment they rejoiced, the "Double-Gun Old Lady" (Bai Kunjie) secretly went to report to the provincial committee. The enemy learned from their internal sources that the "Double-Gun Old Lady" had not died, and was in fact hiding in Chongqing, which shocked them. Fearing that the "wild men of Huaying" would rise again, they sent military and police forces to capture the "Double-Gun Old Lady" (Bai Kunjie) to eliminate future threats. The environment Bai Kunjie found herself in was extremely perilous: the provincial committee was compromised, and a key member, He Yunlong, had betrayed them. All of this posed a great threat to Bai Kunjie. However, she cleverly utilized the fact that the enemy did not know her true identity as the legendary "Double-Gun Old Lady" and, using her connection as a classmate of the city defense commander Min Jialin as cover, employed her agile and adaptable fighting tactics to navigate one crisis after another and ultimately escape danger. She returned to Huaying Mountain with the superior dispatched to work in the area, Zeng Youzhi, and continued the revolutionary struggle according to the Party's instructions. Upon learning of Bai Kunjie's escape, the enemy set up barriers along the way and dispatched He Yunlong and the audacious investigator Zhou Yongsheng to track her down. To evade capture, Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi decided to split paths into Huaying Mountain. At a transportation liaison station upon entering the mountains, Bai Kunjie encountered the local military leader, Xiong Ju, who had kidnapped Yang Liwen, daughter of the long-time ally and Huaying County chief Yang Zhizhai, planning to take her as his concubine. Faced with the peril of her friend and the underground party contact map that had come into her possession after various twists and turns, Bai Kunjie stepped forward to save her. However, although Yang Liwen escaped danger, Bai Kunjie herself was captured by the stationed troops. Back in Huaying Mountain, Zeng Youzhi felt uneasy when Kunjie did not return. In a moment of anxiousness, he learned of Kunjie's capture. Zeng Youzhi immediately launched a rescue operation for Kunjie. Upon discovering that Kunjie's rescue involved Yang Liwen, daughter of the local democratic figure and ally Yang Zhizhai, Zeng Youzhi went to the county town with Kunjie's mother, persuading Yang Zhizhai to use his authority as county chief to bail Kunjie out. The rescue was successful, but Yang Zhizhai faced retribution for his actions. The enemy dispatched Min Jialin as a "cleaning communist" inspector to Huaying Mountain, ordering military leader Xiong Ju to secretly execute Yang Zhizhai. In his youth, Min Jialin had loved his classmate, Bai Kunjie. However, he only knew Zeng Youzhi was a member of the underground party, without knowing that Bai Kunjie was also a Communist and the famous "Double-Gun Old Lady". Moreover, his deep connection with Yang Liwen complicated matters, leading to a tumultuous conflict among the four classmates, where assassination plots and counter-assassinations (to protect Yang Zhizhai) intensified the drama. After a complicated struggle, Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi led the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force to finally thwart the enemy's assassination plot against Yang Zhizhai. However, the enemy ordered Min Jialin to personally execute Yang Zhizhai. Faced with a painful decision, after struggling with his conscience, Min Jialin ultimately dealt the lethal blow to Yang Zhizhai. Almost simultaneously, he decided to relinquish his pursuit of Bai Kunjie and marry Yang Liwen. At that time, the Red Army in northern Sichuan was fiercely battling against the six routing forces; the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force received instructions from the higher-level party organization to escort a batch of medicine to the revolutionary battlefield, as well as to deliver a group of progressives joining the revolution to the Soviet area. Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi immediately organized forces, arranged escort tasks, and engaged in agile and clever battles with the enemy, successfully completing the tasks assigned by higher authorities. Min Jialin began to doubt Bai Kunjie and secretly conducted investigations. Bai Kunjie, through Yang Liwen, cleverly dealt with Min Jialin, managing to keep her identity concealed while effectively fighting the enemy, causing them restless days and nights, severely disrupting their plans to encircle the Soviet area. To meet the needs of the struggle, the party organization in the eastern Sichuan region decided to hold a joint meeting in Huaying. This crucial top-secret matter was leaked to the enemy by a spy infiltrated in our guerrilla force, who reported it through special channels. Suddenly, the situation in Huaying Mountain changed dramatically and danger loomed. To better conceal her identity, Bai Kunjie began teaching at a local school. However, the school's principal was a Nationalist spy who, from another angle, discovered Bai Kunjie's suspicious behavior and promptly reported it to the investigator team, putting Bai Kunjie at risk of arrest. When the principal went to report to the investigation team, the investigation team leader He Yunlong was away on business in Chongqing, and Zhou Yongsheng received him. Although Zhou Yongsheng served the Nationalists, he suspected Min Jialin during his investigation of his father's death, leading him to question his political choices and secretly assist the underground party. At this time, upon learning that Bai Kunjie's identity was exposed, he immediately notified the underground organization, but due to various reasons, could not find Bai Kunjie. He had to take matters into his own hands, eliminating the informing principal to protect Bai Kunjie. Zeng Youzhi arrived at the riverside dock to meet with the liaison sent down from Huaying Mountain Guerrilla Force, only to encounter the patrol of the investigation team. Investigation team leader He Yunlong recognized Zeng Youzhi and ordered his arrest. Zhou Yongsheng covered Zeng Youzhi's escape but exposed his own position and was immediately captured, facing execution. The enemy gathered a heavy military presence in Huaying Mountain, closely sealing off the county town and waiting to catch all of the heads of the local party organizations attending the meeting. The situation was extremely urgent, with the eastern Sichuan underground party facing the danger of complete destruction! It became essential to immediately notify the underground parties throughout the area that they should not come to Huaying for the meeting, which was the only way to protect the party organization. However, given the circumstances, it was nearly impossible to send out such notices. To protect the party organization from destruction by the enemy, Zeng Youzhi decided to employ a strategy of "false surrender" to prevent comrades from arriving for the meeting. Bai Kunjie mistakenly believed Zeng Youzhi truly defected, was furious, and decided to personally execute the "traitor" Zeng Youzhi. In the process of punishing the "traitor," a series of thrilling and brilliant stories unfolded. Yang Liwen discovered that the enemy who killed her father was, in fact, her close friend and husband, leading her to take her own life out of hatred. Min Jialin confirmed Bai Kunjie was the Double-Gun Old Lady and devised a scheme to lure Bai Kunjie’s mother to the county town, aiming to capture Bai Kunjie. Kunjie's mother, with righteous indignation, sacrificed herself to save her daughter, combating Min Jialin's conspiracy. In the final battle, Min Jialin executed a plot and killed Zeng Youzhi. Bai Kunjie pursued Min Jialin in Huaying Mountain and shot him dead. Bai Kunjie, celebrated as the Double-Gun Old Lady, strides firmly onward along the muddy roads, continuing her revolutionary journey.
