In the late 1930s, the ancient land of China suffered from the ravages of Japanese imperialism. The vast territory was filled with smoke and chaos, and the people lived in misery. Liulin Town in Hebei, originally a lively and peaceful place, was replaced by slaughter and death as the Japanese army's Kojima unit advanced. The village of Zhuangjiaying, where butcher Zhuang Jizong (played by Yu Zhen) lived, was brutally massacred, with over a hundred villagers perishing except for him. Grief-stricken and angry, Zhuang vowed to avenge his fellow villagers, leaving not a single Japanese alive. During this time, he befriended circus owner Li Zhankui (played by Ma Shaohua). United in their hatred for the enemy, they embarked on a mission to hunt down traitors and Japanese soldiers, while actively rescuing the suffering common people from the atrocities committed by the Japanese. As their fame grew, the Japanese viewed the two “rebels” as a thorn in their side that needed to be removed quickly. After encountering revolutionary forces, Zhuang Jizong and Li Zhankui's actions gained even deeper significance…
