At a time of career growth and life's struggles, the young couple Tian Beilei and Guo Yiming unexpectedly become pregnant with their second child while working in Beijing. Both sets of parents rush to their sides, and the four elderly parents leave their homes and careers, determined to support their children and grandchildren as "Beijing drifters." Under one roof, two places, three generations, and seven people enact a bittersweet family emotional story. The strong-willed Tian Beilei takes a risky leap by quitting her job for their future, finding a new path amid difficulties; the kind Guo Yiming bears the dual pressures of home and work as a pillar of support. Their journey leads them to the brink of divorce, only to reunite with warmth. The four elderly parents "spar" for love, making two trips back to Beijing, each time finding their own footing. A series of real-life issues such as children's promotions, grandchildren's education, decisions regarding the second child, and the emotions of the elderly continuously test the protagonists. Through their respective perseverance and understanding, striving and compromise, separation and return, they create mutual emotional connections and uphold a unified value system throughout the drama. Life ultimately teaches the young people that as long as familial love is upheld, genuine emotions persist, and confidence and optimism remain, a bright tomorrow is assured.
