"Bloodshed on the Qiantang River" is adapted from a real historical event and is one of the significant cases since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It tells the story of 1950, when the Kuomintang's espionage organization "541 Work Station" infiltrated Hangzhou, planning and executing the "Fireworks" operation, attempting to blow up the train of our leaders crossing the Qiantang River Bridge. A deadly struggle began where the enemy lurked among us, and we among the enemy. In July 1950, the People's Republic of China, just under a week old, was in dire need of rebuilding. The reactionary Kuomintang, which had retreated to Taiwan after losing the mainland, believed the time had come to "counterattack the mainland and restore the country," mobilizing troops for action. Chiang Kai-shek ordered spies lurking in the mainland to attempt to eliminate our nascent red regime in its cradle. One night in August, an undercover reconnaissance agent from our defense department, codenamed "221," who had infiltrated the Kuomintang's "541 Work Station," was killed by henchmen of the Kuomintang's chief, known as "Tiger." Coincidentally, a young woman was also murdered by the picturesque West Lake. Upon receiving a report from Miao Yujie, the city’s cultural bureau director, Defense Minister Lei Ming and Chief of the Female Investigation Section, Zhang Xuyue, rushed to the scene and conducted extensive and detailed investigations into the two cases, discovering that there were Kuomintang spies lurking among us and narrowing their focus on the lakeside hotel for further investigation. However, they faced numerous difficulties and perilous crises. U.S. General "One-Eyed Priest" Edward Hamilton, supporting Chiang Kai-shek's subversive activities against our red regime, activated the "Fireworks" plan—a highly classified intelligence intercepted by us, but the details remained unclear. On this day, Lei Ming suddenly received a secret order from Beijing: the espionage organization led by "Tiger" was directly targeting our Number One leader, who was about to arrive in Hangzhou... Thus, a thrilling counter-espionage battle of the Republic unfolded, ultimately ending in our victory.
