It tells the story of a couple, originally very much in love, who experience an emotional crisis after the accidental loss of their child. To save their marriage, they decide to change their environment and immigrate to Canada. Upon arriving in Canada, they realize they cannot truly integrate into the society, resulting in extreme mental distress. At this point, the wife, Lin Nan (played by Zhang Ting), thoughtfully suggests that her husband, Mao Qi (played by Ding Zhicheng), return to their home country. Kind-hearted Mao Qi initially supports Lin Nan, but after some time, he realizes that Hai has deep feelings for Lin Nan, and Lin Nan's care for Hai makes Mao Qi feel jealous as a man, causing him to feel pain again. When Lin Nan notices Mao Qi's emotional changes, she also experiences tremendous inner conflict.
