"Colorful Jianghu" tells the story of a struggling hotel that inadvertently attracts a group of unique characters, including the playboy Sima Xixi, the clever and mischievous Qian Xiaobao, the charming girl warrior Su Yufeng, and the sharp-tongued rich beauty Liu Ruxia. The lead vocalist of the Flower Band, Da Zhangwei, will collaborate with Hunan Television host Shen Mengchen and the idol boy group MIC in the cast. On July 25, 2014, China’s first variety costume drama began filming in Changsha, Hunan.
