The capture operation fails, and the deputy captain of the criminal police team, Zhou Qingdong, heroically sacrifices himself, with his body missing; the criminal police officer Yang Tianming (played by Hai Yitian) suffers a head injury. The internal affairs officer Xiao Yun (played by Chen Jin) insists on being transferred to the front line of the criminal police team, determined to catch her husband's killer. They ultimately find the monster who killed Zhou Qingdong and kill him in the ensuing battle. Originally, Xiao Yun had promised Li Dazeng that she would leave the criminal police team after catching Zhou Qingdong's killer.
