This drama is referred to as an inspirational youth idol drama, reflecting the entrepreneurial lives of contemporary Chinese college students and their deep thoughts about society. According to the director Ma Jin, the biggest difference between "Made in China" and previous youth idol dramas is that the university students in this drama are not the pampered elite who are immersed in romance all day, but a group of new youth who start from scratch with intellect and innovative spirit, daring to challenge themselves. They lack the excessive delicacy and restlessness of contemporary youth and instead embody much masculinity and courage. The main characters in this drama are all vibrant newcomers, and the young and fresh creative team offers a refreshing experience. Although they are not well-known, their feelings and states are very close to the characters in the drama. A number of famous actors make guest appearances in the drama, including Xiang Mei, Zheng Qianlong, Chen Ying, Hu Yajie, and Bai Fan, all of whom deliver impressive performances. The director consistently pursues a realistic creative style while exuding a youthful, healthy, and positive aesthetic tone. The writers and directors of "Made in China" focus on the development process of college students’ entrepreneurship, truthfully approaching and touching upon the increasingly severe employment situation faced by contemporary college students. The drama vividly reflects the autonomous entrepreneurship of modern college students and their ideal pursuit of realizing social value and self-worth in the process of entrepreneurial development. Shooting background: "Made in China" was jointly produced by the Tianjin Television Drama Production Center and the CCTV Film and Television Department, directed by the renowned director Ma Jin. It is adapted from the long novel "Tsinghua Manufacturing." Most of the scenes in "Made in China" are filmed at Wuhan University.
