The story takes place in the summer of 2003. Duo Duo (played by Yang Zishan) is a recent graduate who has just stepped out of campus and is full of hope and dreams for the future. By coincidence, Duo Duo has a conflict with a man named He Yan (played by Zheng Kai), and the two refuse to give in, leading to an impasse.
