The Premarital Agreement tells the stories of three couples from different age groups and their varying emotions. Different people make different choices regarding life, career, feelings, and marriage; simultaneously, under the influence of the newly introduced marriage law, these choices become even more diverse, like a numerical arrangement! This entangled situation, in turn, drives the plot forward! Zhang, a lawyer, and Xiao Linglong, a couple from the "80s" with dreams of love. As the younger generation, they have their own understanding of marriage. Especially Zhang, who has a profound understanding of the significance of the new marriage law, views marriage as a form of "sincere cooperation," with material wealth seen as the profits generated from this "cooperation." Therefore, if the "cooperation" ends, they will split the property based on their contributions. Hence, even before obtaining their marriage certificate, they established a premarital agreement and live a mutual-respect "AA system" lifestyle. However, the premarital agreement cannot avoid the temptations and conflicts that arise in life; they overlook the fact that "love requires perseverance" and that life requires endurance. Gao Han and Yang Xiaoting are a couple going through the "seven-year itch." When their marital life faces monotony and a bottleneck, the shared wealth built from their joint entrepreneurial efforts and a premarital agreement bind them together. The premarital agreement relates to emotional loyalty, but "property division" is a cold reality... A conspiracy concerning "emotions and money" emerges, with their hearts as the stakes. Xiao Yuhai and Chu Zheng represent the current young generation; they view love as a cozy blanket that warms each other, while marriage is seen as a "shortcut" to changing their living conditions. Thus, they are afraid to believe in love, hesitant to face their inner thoughts, and lack the courage to confront marriage... When they finally achieve the fame and fortune they desire, they realize that the changes in life have greatly exceeded their imagination and control.
