This is an emotional drama that presents love, marriage, and family ethics from a unique perspective. The five women of different identities in the story face the bittersweet experiences of life and the emotional highs and lows, exhibiting their remarkable self-rescue and the power of tolerant and open personalities. Each character embodies the spirit of traditional moral values and serves as a "mirror" reflecting their inner selves, filled with real-life confusions and the confidence to pursue family happiness. They cherish familial harmony and the warmth of relationships like sunlight obscured by layers of clouds, breaking through barriers to radiate light at all times. They experience, feel, and savor all the joys and sorrows of middle age, their tears soaking a heart hurt by loved ones. Their compassion melts the icy barriers in marital relationships, and their laughter resonates through time, filled with nostalgia. They build a family—a warm "nest" where couples coexist—with their soft hearts and delicate love. This is a play about women, a performance appreciated by both men and women, and it offers a vast space for audience interpretation. While the story unfolds, it also provides opportunities for countless ordinary families to express love and share feelings with one another. Throughout the ups and downs of four families, the play consistently embodies the essence of the Chinese traditional virtue of "harmony is precious." When each of our lives approaches the age of understanding, we unknowingly gain an extra share of troubles and pains, as well as responsibilities and love. Yiwang, Xiaodan, Xiaofeng, Shuiyao, and Linghong are five women who love amidst pain and troubles and find love in their burdens. Yiwang lives alone with two children in Hong Kong, while her husband, Zhiming, works alone in an international company in Beijing. One day, Yiwang receives a call from Shuiyao in Beijing, revealing a secret about her husband. Without hesitation, Yiwang quits her job and takes the children to Beijing. Zhiming's changes plunge her into despair, as she never imagined her beloved husband would say that he no longer loves her. In the days and nights that follow, Yiwang cannot dispel her pain and her deep love for Zhiming. She suffers for love, yet continues to love in her suffering, truly understanding everything between Zhiming and Linghong. Zhiming, in the loneliness of long-distance separation, meets Linghong, a girl working in Beijing. They are a couple that should not fall in love, and this misguided affection brings them immense pain and guilt. They abruptly end their budding relationship, facing moral questioning that arises more from their own inner selves. This is a story about moral return and emotional repair, yet it remains hauntingly unresolved. Xiaodan and Qiufeng are university classmates. Qiufeng comes from a rural background in the northwest, while Xiaodan is the daughter of a university professor. Despite their different family backgrounds and personalities, they are a very equal couple; their relationship is both marital and friendly, intimate as siblings without defenses, sharing everything openly. However, Qiufeng ultimately conceals a matter from Xiaodan that nearly drives them to divorce. This pertains to a past romantic entanglement from his youth—she was Qiufeng’s classmate and first love. Qiufeng secretly arranges for her daughter Sisi to work in his company and spends over a hundred thousand yuan on her medical treatment without telling Xiaodan. This is something Xiaodan finds incomprehensible and intolerable. Although Qiufeng fully confesses the truth after the incident, their once-close relationship suffers an irreparable rift, escalating personality conflicts. Constant arguments become routine, leading them to separate. Nevertheless, Qiufeng's love for Xiaodan remains unwavering and selfless. Xiaofeng’s husband, Boda, left home years ago, leaving her and their son, Feihong, to live in hardship. Xiaofeng is a kind-hearted yet strong-willed woman, resolutely determined to wait for her husband’s return. She believes her waiting will not be in vain, knowing Boda loves her and that she loves him even more. Boda finally returns, but only when it is too late, coming back in a state of severe illness. Xiaofeng never imagined this would be the outcome of her wait. Faced with the renewed blow of life, she shoulders the heavy burdens of life with her frail body, even selling their only home to pay for her husband's medical bills. However, she could not keep him, as Boda ultimately departs from her forever. Their final days together are as beautiful and unforgettable as their first love—a cycle of life, the pinnacle of love. Xiaofeng gave all her love to Boda, while he promises to find her in the next life, stating, "In the next life, no matter where you are, I will find you, even if it means toiling endlessly to repay your love in this life." Shuiyao and Yonghe are a model couple, exemplifying the traditional Chinese virtue of mutual respect between spouses. Their happy life serves as a benchmark for Xiaodan, Yiwang, and Xiaofeng. Shuiyao, the eldest among them, acts as a big sister, to whom they all confide their inner pain and worries. Shuiyao consistently provides them comfort and assistance, even proposing the formation of a mutual support group to positively face all life events together. However, their happy life is not easily achieved; during their twentieth wedding anniversary, Shuiyao and Yonghe open up to their friends about stories from their past. This is a story that showcases the pure emotions between couples, a contemporary work full of healthy, uplifting, and harmonious significance. Every character in this story represents someone who loves you wholeheartedly.
