The story takes place at the end of the Sui Dynasty, where the open and covert struggle between General Jiang Chengfeng (played by Wang Ruilin) and his political rival Shi Tao (played by Wang Gang) has reached a boiling point. Shi Tao threatens his adopted son Shi Jingtian (played by Shao Feng), demanding that he provide protection for him. Shi Jingtian's true identity is the biological son of the Stone Monk (played by Jin Chaokun). In a chance encounter, Shi Jingtian meets his adoptive sister A She (played by Yang Lijing), and the two fall in love. Their relationship brings the past love-hate struggles between the Stone Monk and his old flame Bai Yu Guanyin (played by Liu Xuehua) back to the surface. Bai Yu Guanyin, who has become obsessed with martial arts after suffering in love, turns into a malevolent figure causing chaos. In order to reform her, the Stone Monk, with the help of his disciple A De (played by Xu Jinglei), confronts her, ultimately leading to Bai Yu Guanyin's enlightenment.
