This drama is referred to as the Chinese version of "ER." It features the original cast of "Serious Crime Squad," but this time the policemen have become doctors. The leading actress, Wang Qian, recently stated in an interview that after witnessing so much life and death in the hospital, she is considering retiring from acting. The director of "Infinite Vitality" is the renowned Xu Qingdong, who has consistently achieved high ratings in recent years. He continues to use the crew from shows like "Serious Crime Squad" and "A Pair of Embroidered Shoes." Wang Qian, who played a spirited police officer in "Serious Crime Squad," now portrays the savvy and capable Dr. Su. Yesterday, she told reporters that filming "Infinite Vitality" was very challenging. Months before shooting, the director led the main actors and other key personnel to intern at the Beijing 120 Emergency Center, Friendship Hospital, and Chaoyang Hospital, where dozens followed ambulances to rescue patients and observed large emergency surgeries and treatment processes. During her internship, Wang Qian worked night shifts in the hospital's emergency room, saying, “Every time a bunch of patients came in at night and there weren't enough doctors on duty, I really stepped in.” She added that during her internship, she helped shave the heads of patients injured by knife wounds, applied pressure to stop bleeding, and rushed elderly patients struggling to breathe to the rescue room, stating she experienced all the scenarios from "ER." So when a staff member suddenly fainted on set and everyone was in chaos, Wang Qian stepped up to “diagnose” and actually managed to help the person recover. "Infinite Vitality" began filming in October last year, and the crew specially built a complete hospital in Tongzhou, fully equipped with all departments and facilities. Wang Qian mentioned that the story's style is somewhat similar to "Serious Crime Squad," with each episode featuring seven cases that intertwine at least three severe patients and four or more light cases. Two significant challenges in filming were the weather and some professional rescue processes. Since the filming location had no heating and they spent the coldest days of the year in the hospital, the actors were so cold they cried, vowing never to act again. The second challenge was that the director had very strict requirements regarding professional rescue procedures; every scene had to be reviewed by emergency experts, leading to many reshoots due to minor details not being executed correctly. Thus, the entire production took four and a half months. Due to the exhaustion from shooting, Wang Qian said she was so tired from witnessing life and death in the hospital that she plans to take a six-month break from acting. Wang Qian expressed that her biggest takeaway from this drama is that everyone should learn some "first aid knowledge," stating, "Actually, you might just need to study for two or three days, and it can have a significant impact in crucial moments; even a small action from you might determine someone else's life or death, especially young people with elderly family members should learn." Wang Qian plans to take a break soon to study foreign languages well.
