Seventeen hundred years ago, the Huaxia nation entered an era of great conflict, where every living being had their own ambitions. The noble and humble Spring and Autumn period came to an end, making way for the War of the States, characterized by plunder and carnage. At this time, the small state of Qin, located in the northwest frontier, suffered greatly from the assaults of the six states, teetering on the edge of destruction. The Duke of Qin, Xiang Gong, died on the battlefield, and the young Prince Qu Liang (played by Hou Yong) ascended to the throne in a time of crisis. He harbored deep humiliation, struggling to survive under the siege of the six states, and vowed to rise through reform. Duke Xiao of Qin, Qu Liang, sought out talented individuals from across the world. Destined not to perish, Wei Yang (played by Wang Zhifei), who had previously been unsuccessful in the State of Wei, made his way to Qin and gained the favor of Duke Xiao due to his knowledge and clear understanding of the world situation. Wei Yang initiated a far-reaching and controversial reform in Qin, leading to the rise of a powerful Qin... This film is adapted from the first part of the historical novel of the same name by Sun Haohui.
