Jie Zhengguo is a worker from the Kailuan Coal Mine, known for his exceptional martial skills, righteous actions, and deep trust from the miners. He also possesses a unique talent in magic, continuously leading the masses in their struggle against the British capitalists controlling the coal mine. After the "July 7 Incident," the Japanese occupied Tangshan, and the Kailuan Coal Mine became a key target for their plunder of strategic resources. Under the leadership of the Eighth Route Army, Jie Zhengguo formed a workers' special task force, leveraging the miners' familiarity with the underground terrain, their skills, and their ability to endure hardship to engage with the Japanese soldiers led by Konoe Ronichi. Jie Zhengguo and Konoe Ronichi became rivals, constantly challenging each other. The Nationalist Party sent Lieutenant Sun Xianwu to infiltrate the workers' special task force, intending to recruit or sabotage this armed force. The workers' special task force led by Jie Zhengguo overcame numerous hardships, gradually growing stronger. They ambushed the Japanese, seized weapons and ammunition, destroyed arsenals, skillfully supported foreign doctor Norman, uncovered the Japanese plan to kidnap Chen Kuangsi to control the coal mine, sabotaged the Japanese plan to build a port on the Tangshan coast for transporting coal to their homeland, and thwarted the Japanese attempts to plunder the Kailuan coal resources. Through the trials of combat, Jie Zhengguo, under the guidance and influence of Communist Party members and the Eighth Route Army such as Wang Maosheng and Political Commissar Deng, evolved from a brother who valued loyalty into a true anti-Japanese hero and military commander.
