The story takes place in the early 1970s. The Down to the Countryside Movement was in full swing. Zhuang Huisheng (played by Shi Tiangeng), out of a secret affection for Ye Xiaofan (played by Wang Yuanke), secretly changed his volunteer assignment, but things did not go as he wished, and he went to Shaanbei alone, while Ye Xiaofan, Qiao Haiyang (played by Zhang Yi), and others were assigned to the Northeast to build the Corps.
