In the beginning, during a worship ceremony, King Zhou of the Shang Dynasty (played by Ma Jingtao) is captivated by the beauty of Nüwa, which stirs his lustful thoughts, leading him to compose frivolous poetry. This act enrages Nüwa, who sends a thousand-year-old fox spirit to disrupt the Shang court and sever its dragon vein. Soon, King Zhou, deceived by the slander of Chong Houhu (played by Li Jianxin), insists on bringing Da Ji (played by Fan Bingbing), the daughter of Su Hu from Jizhou, into the palace. On the way, the fox spirit secretly swaps identities and impersonates Da Ji, leading to chaos in the court with treacherous officials, creating sorcery rituals, constructing wine pits, and surrounding meat forests. They engage in conspiracies, framing loyal subjects, causing widespread grievances throughout the nation, and rallying the lords from all directions. At this time, Ji Fa (played by Zhou Jie), the son of the Duke of Xibo, swears to seek vengeance against King Zhou. Thus, the wheel of dynastic change begins to turn, pulling both mortals and deities into a grand epic of the Feng Shen Bang… This film is adapted from the classic Chinese literary masterpiece "Feng Shen Bang."
