Divorced Mina (played by Mariya) falls in love with Chinese chef Ma Dahong (played by Zhou Xiaobin) through their culinary connection. After a period of emotional communication, she brings her son Jacob (played by Jacob) to China to marry Dahong. A culture enthusiast, Mina quickly bonds with her neighbors.
