In the mid-twentieth century, a large number of Jewish refugees persecuted by the German Nazis flocked to Shanghai, making the great city of Shanghai the last refuge for the Jewish people. In a bid to completely annihilate the Jews who fled to Shanghai, German SS Colonel Messing drafted a brutal "Messing Plan." To save the lives of thirty thousand Jews in Shanghai, Linda, the daughter of a famous Jewish banker from Hamburg, brought a large sum of money entrusted by her father before his death and the "Messing Plan" she acquired through heavy bribery.
