In early 1950, just twenty days after the liberation of Guangxi, the Kuomintang, unwilling to accept defeat, sent the spy Zhong Yulin into the strategic stronghold of Tea City in northern Guangxi. Zhong Yulin established contacts with the remnants of the Kuomintang, the notorious bandits in the Big Tea Mountain, and spies hidden within the Communist Party, preparing to attack Tea City. He fancied that he could use Tea City as a base to command the anti-Communist forces in Guangxi to retake the region and launch a full-scale counteroffensive on the mainland. Zhong Yulin and his gang of bandits ravaged, assassinated, and harmed innocent civilians in the Tea City area, becoming true political bandits. Mu Jianchen, a military doctor from the 8th Company of the 434th Regiment of the Fourth Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, accidentally became a scapegoat in Zhong Yulin's scheme. As a steadfast communist revolutionary soldier, Mu Jianchen did not succumb. For the safety of the people of Tea City and to safeguard the hard-won achievements of the newborn people's government, he disregarded his personal safety and engaged in a relentless battle against Zhong Yulin's bandits. Ultimately, under the command of the Tea City Committee, Mu Jianchen coordinated with the Liberation Army's air force to decisively annihilate Zhong Yulin and his gang of political bandits.
