This is a satirical black comedy adapted from the famous late Qing dynasty work "Officialdom Unmasked." The screenwriter uses the absurd actions of the characters to expose human nature's greed, ugliness, and darkness. It portrays the corruption and ugliness of the officialdom in feudal society through the evolution of a master-servant relationship. The entire series features over 100 well-known actors, with national treasures from both the north and south taking the stage, making it a gathering of stars as seen in historical masterpieces. With no integrity among scholars and no character among people, hearts corrupted by interests, and justice hard to find; there are not only instances of misrepresentation, such as buying and selling official positions for personal gain, but also collusion between officials and businessmen with no limits. Using the ancient to satirize the modern, it vividly presents the three strategies of the "thick black" secrets of officialdom—tangible and colorful, tangible and colorless, intangible and colorless—throughout the drama. It is a satirical black comedy.
