The story takes place in the beautiful coastal city of Haihe. It narrates the experiences of Wu Yang, a PhD who is conducting research on a virus vaccine of high economic value, as he accidentally hits a mysterious figure with his car while driving home after dropping a friend off at the airport. This incident pulls him into a baffling series of rape and murder cases, leading to a series of suspenseful events... A young female singer, Zhang Han, is assaulted and has her throat cut by a mysterious killer on her way to an audition at a record company. Wu Yang becomes a primary suspect for the police when he gets blood from Zhang Han on him after the car accident. His once happy life is forever changed.
