Takataro Kohei (Toma Ikuta) is a young man in Tokyo who lacks a strong sense of crisis but possesses an optimistic outlook. After graduating from university, he started as a temporary employee and has been unable to secure a permanent position for seven years. Recently, he not only lost his job unexpectedly but was also dumped by his girlfriend. By chance, he gets the opportunity to volunteer in Kochi Prefecture's Shimanto. Meanwhile, the self-important medical researcher, Yoshiko Nikaido (Yoko Maki), is reluctantly called back to her hometown of Shimanto to support the local healthcare development. In this beautiful yet somewhat quiet small city, the hearts of the people seem to draw closer together.
