The drama is adapted from Keiho Higashino's novel of the same name, with the story set in the Reiwa era instead of the early Heisei period. Kamenashi plays the protagonist, Shunsuke Sakuma, a capable planner at an advertising agency who derives pleasure from the sense of achievement found in both work and romance, akin to playing a game. In order to take revenge on a corporate vice president who suddenly removed him from a major project, Sakuma teams up with the vice president's daughter to stage a kidnapping. A tactical battle unfolds with the vice president, who wants to rescue his daughter, alongside a twisted and dangerous romance with the daughter, who is an accomplice.
