This comedy is set in the fictional town of Tambury and tells the story of Tony (played by Ricky Gervais). Tony is a writer for the local newspaper, and his life changes dramatically after his wife dies of cancer.  In Season 2, Tony is still struggling with the pain of his wife's death, but we see him trying to improve his friendly relationships with those around him. Everyone is trying to solve their own problems, and with the local newspaper facing the threat of closure, everyone's situation is difficult.  Can the local amateur dramatic performance lift everyone's spirits?  "After Life" is a Netflix original series produced by Derek Productions. This six-episode series is created, written, and directed by Ricky Gervais. Charlie Hanson serves as the producer, with Ricky Gervais and Duncan Hayes as executive producers.
