This drama tells the story of two young brothers, Tiantian and Huanhuan, and their longing for the sea during their childhood. In a family environment filled with their parents' constant arguments and tension, the brothers ultimately decide to run away from home to find the beautiful vast sea they yearn for, but they are kidnapped by human traffickers. After enduring numerous hardships, they finally reunite with their family. The main actors are two boys under twelve years old: the older brother Tiantian is eleven, and the younger brother Huanhuan is only nine. The story begins with their father having an affair, leading to daily arguments between their parents that involve harsh words and throwing things, completely disregarding the children's feelings. The two children live in fear every day, unable to focus on their studies. One day, the older brother asks the younger brother, "Huanhuan, do you like the sea?". "Yes, I've heard that the sea is very blue and beautiful." The younger brother rests his chin on his hand, his eyes filled with desire. "Then how about I take you to see the sea?" "Okay." Thus, the brothers take some simple luggage and, amidst their parents' arguments, quietly leave home, embarking on their journey to find the sea. But achieving their dream is not so easy; during their journey, the brothers get lost. After wandering for a while, Tiantian is sold to a childless family by human traffickers. He refuses to be their child and constantly confronts the couple. Meanwhile, the young Huanhuan is sold to a poor and violent family in the mountains, where he not only has to cook, cut grass, and herd sheep every day but also endures beatings and scoldings from the female owner. Their parents, realizing their children are missing after coming to their senses during arguments, post missing person notices and seek help through television, but receive no news. At this point, they deeply regret their actions. The father stops caring about his affair, and the mother no longer counts her husband's faults; they cling to each other, neglecting food and drink, weeping day and night. Some scenes in the drama still make my heart ache to this day. In the film, Huanhuan is chased around by the farmer's wife wielding a stick, and after being beaten, he isn't even given food. Their parents halt their work to search for their children, even visiting the village where Huanhuan is. On the dirt road of the village, they drive with sorrowful expressions, and at that moment, Huanhuan is bent over, desperately pushing a cart filled with wheat, missing each other. In the end, two years later, through the confessions of arrested traffickers, they finally find their two children. The reunion takes place in a very large house, but the couple cannot see the children. The mother cries out, "Tiantian, Huanhuan, come out, stop playing hide and seek with mommy, okay?". But no matter how much they call, there is no response from the children. The mother collapses in the father's arms, and at that moment, the two children crawl out from under the sofa in the room, looking at them with unfamiliar eyes, trembling and retreating, having been tortured to an unrecognizable state. The couple runs over, crying and embracing their children. The story concludes beautifully; the couple reconciles and takes the two children to see the sea of their dreams. I still remember the theme song at the end: "Why is the sea so blue, why is the seawater so salty, why do calm seas have storms, why are seashells on the beach never-ending, ah... only by going to the sea can we find the answers, go see the sea, go see the sea, keep walking eastwards, even if it's a thousand miles away."
