Su Chun and Guo Haiping (played by Hai Qing) are deeply in love, but due to a lack of money, they are unable to buy a house in Jiangzhou and can only temporarily live in an alleyway. Haiping strives to change their situation, but the pressure of housing prices makes it difficult. Even after giving birth to a daughter, they have to send her back to her hometown to be raised by her parents. Haiping's sister, Hai Zhao (played by Li Nian), graduates from university and falls in love with company employee Xiao Bei (played by Wen Zhang), and they also feel the hardships of saving money to buy a house. Due to work, Hai Zhao meets the mayor's secretary, Song Siming (played by Zhang Jiayi), who falls in love with her at first sight and helps her and her sister out of their predicament multiple times. In return, Hai Zhao becomes involved with him, leading to an uncontrollable affair.
