In Edo-period Japan, a game called "Hyakumonogatari" became popular: a group of people lights one hundred oil lamps, and then each person takes turns telling ghost stories. After each story is told, one lamp is extinguished. It is said that when the last lamp is blown out, real supernatural beings will be summoned. "Strange Tales of a Hundred Stories" presents eleven well-known mysterious and supernatural stories, each episode featuring a different tale.
