"The Defenders" (English: Marvel's The Defenders, or simply: The Defenders) is a web mini-series produced by Netflix based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The show is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and connects to the plot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series of films, serving as a climax of the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series. This mini-series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios, with Ramirez overseeing it. The story takes place a few months after the second season of "Daredevil" and one month after "Iron Fist," where the vigilantes residing across New York—Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist—come together to form a superhero team to combat the impending evil of the Hand.
