The sisters Ling Ruofeng and Ling Ruoyu became martyrs' orphans after their parents were ambushed by a criminal organization during a customs smuggling operation. Ten years later, when the sisters visit the cemetery to pay their respects to their ancestors, they are astonished to discover a bouquet of blue calla lilies that they have never seen before! After the appearance of the oddly-colored calla lilies, the sisters' peaceful lives are disrupted, pulling them into a mysterious vortex.
Ling Ruofeng, the director of a welfare institution, suddenly faces an outbreak of Disease No. 2, leading to the deaths of infants one after another. As it is an intestinal infection, the welfare institution rules out food poisoning, and experts are unable to identify the source of infection to control the outbreak; meanwhile, Ling Ruoyu, the inspection director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, finds that the state-owned capital under her management at Chawis Group is rapidly shrinking, with pillar industries collapsing one after the other. The cholera outbreak in the welfare institution is caused by the infants' bedding, and the contaminated cotton originates from the donations of Chawis Group!
Ling Ruoyu and her boyfriend, Han Dawei, the team leader of the industrial and commercial inspection team, team up to investigate the polluted cotton, attempting to uncover the mystery of Chawis's brand products being counterfeited, leading to the company's collapse and the shrinkage of state assets. However, a series of bizarre events ensue.
The owner of the polluted cotton, Wei Jiamin, receives a phone alert and attempts to escape through the window; however, the inspecting team encounters killers posing as counterfeit police. Han Dawei and Ling Ruoyu narrowly escape death, still unaware of the danger. Private entrepreneur Liu Yunfei sells counterfeit cotton in the market, and despite being summoned by deputy team leader Zhou Tianyu for handling, he escapes with a lighter punishment after a private chat. Chawis's logistics minister Jia Zhiguang is involved in a bribery case worth 1.2 million; the industrial and commercial department wants to file a case for inspection, but general manager Zhao Yonghong pressures Jia Zhiguang to surrender first and take all the blame, using the condition that his son earns 800,000 dollars as leverage. The main culprit, Wei Jiamin, is captured in a different location, but is unexpectedly shot dead during transport!
The investigation of the contaminated cotton is thus interrupted, and Chawis Group compensates the welfare institution 1.6 million RMB, leaving the matter unresolved.
Zhou Tianyu's urgent pursuit for Wei Jiamin's account books raises Ling Ruoyu's suspicions about her brother-in-law. Her persistent nature leads her to discover clues hidden within the account books: Chawis has been involved with the deceased, purchasing and dumping counterfeit goods at low prices. However, senior leaders like Huashan and Zhao Yonghong use Zhou Tianyu's personally supervised industrial and commercial inspection as proof of their innocence.
Chawis's quilt factory faces misfortune again; Daewoo of South Korea unconditionally halts the sales contract due to the Disease No. 2 incident, causing the quilt factory’s inventory to pile up, nearing bankruptcy, and is contracted out to private entrepreneur Liu Yunfei. Anxious, Ling Ruoyu, prompted by party secretary Zheng Ling, realizes that the main reason for the shrinkage of Chawis's state assets is illegal businessmen counterfeiting its brand, squeezing the market, resulting in Chawis's brand products stagnating in sales and gradually collapsing. To address this, Ling Ruoyu resolves to take on the role of legal consultant for Chawis's anti-counterfeiting team in her capacity as a public lawyer, joining forces with the industrial, commercial, and public security inspection agencies to "combat counterfeiting." This move unleashes a storm of challenges...
